Lets connect the USB memory stick with the updated firmware to the PS3. Press the PS3 power button and hold it there, till the time you hear three beeping sounds. This is when you will witness the menu screen. In case you do not, hold the power down one more time. The installation of the new firmware can be done using the onscreen menu. It is advised to observe after updating your PS3 for improvement. If the problem still persists, move forward to the next way.

By reformatting the PS3 hard drive we can strive to repair the PS3 red screen. There is a high possibility of the PS3 having a corrupted drive which causes red screen. You will have to reformat it in that case and reform the whole system to establish anew database.
